Welcome to Happy Raw Food.com! Glad to see you here. I look forward to sharing my expertise as a certified raw food chef, marathon runner, world traveller--and oh, yes!--raw foodist for about twenty years. Enter Chef John twenty some years ago.

It was no fun having low energy, aches, leg cramps, colds, dry skin, spasms, twitching muscles and digestive problems. I suffered from iron deficiency anemia and low calcium levels leading to osteopenia and low bone density. Finally, going under a surgeon’s knife to remove two enlarged parathyroid glands at age 47 (followed later by a second surgery to remove two tumor growths) was a wakeup call for me to change my life.

I thought my lifestyle was healthy. I jogged and ran fun run, I worked really hard and thought it was normal to crave sugary sweets after long stressful hours in the office.

And then I had surgery. I was told I would have to exist on pills for the rest of my life. I was told--as many patients are--that there might be more surgeries in the future. I knew there was something better. I didn’t want to take iron pills, calcium, magnesium and vitamin pills the rest of my life. I wanted to live life fully and happily without pills.

Instead of a Standard American Diet (SAD) of fast food, fried food, chips and diet soda I chose natural organic food sources of vitamins, minerals, enzymes, protein, carbohydrates and fats.

Raw food, freshly squeezed juices, super foods as nature intended, being active physically and socially have completely changed my life. As a self taught world traveler I learned about Ten Super Foods from native people in Brazil, China, Thailand and Jamaica--and I will gladly share my knowledge with you. At age 59 I finished my first marathon, climbed a 14,400 ft. peak, biked on New Zealand’ s North Island, and I now continue adventure travels at age 70+. Happy Raw Food suggests a natural food lifestyle.
